I’m a fan of films that are truly works of art, when each frame could be painting, every song perfectly timed and chosen with such careful consideration, every detail has been thought of and thought of again. Ugh. Wes Anderson knows how to make a film. It wasn’t so much that I loved Margot and Richie’s slightly incestuous “secret” relationship, but the character development in this delightful film is so satisfying.
There’s a part in this film, and the line is “as always, she was late.” A bus stops to let its passengers off, and everything goes silent, Margot steps off. Nico’s “These Days” begins to play, and I remember seeing this part for the first time, and I think my heart stopped. I still get butterflies when I think of it ❤️

“…For they get the better even of their blunders.”

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind will always be most dear to me 💙
