Cassidy Cleland-Nissen is an artist living out in the prairies of South Dakota. By day, she works as a motion graphic artist for a local video production company. She also occasionally teaches yin yoga. When she’s not working, she spends her time laughing with her husband and playing with their dogs, writing poems, researching some new obsession, drawing, meditating, making collages, working out, baking, reading, fostering dogs with Dakota Dachshund Rescue, volunteering at the Humane Society, or aimlessly wandering!
She can often be found (or not) exploring the lesser known areas of South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Colorado, and Nebraska. She’s inspired by the variety of landscapes across the midwest, and the abundance of history and natural beauty that lies within them.
Cassidy has been experimenting with art since she was 6 years old. She started out by obsessively attempting to draw still life objects upside down, and from that, she progressed into painting and using any and all other mediums. She continues to express herself through drawing, painting, collaging, writing poems, and anything else she can find.
In 2005, she started taking photographs and taught herself the basics of shooting and developing film. Cassidy now shoots primarily digital, and mostly for her own entertainment purposes only.
